Those closing 'graphs here are killer, Sam. The way you put yourself under the microscope only adds to that. And beautiful, journalistic narration here, too!
Small world, AJ! I’d love to hear what, if anything, your friend knows about it if you get a chance to ask. There is so much fascinating Coptic history in Cairo. When most people think of Egyptian history, they think of the pharaonic and Islamic periods--but for hundreds of years in between, the majority of Egyptians were Christian, and I find that part tends to get glossed over.
Thank you for this, Sam. Glad to hear you are going home, see you in the New Year. ❤️
❤️🤗
I love the honesty in this. And I learned so much. Happy holidays.
Happy holidays to you too, Stephanie! ❤️
Fascinating and disturbing at the same time. Thank you for transporting me out of my comfort zone with such sensitivity. Have a wonderful holiday!
❤️ I hope you have a wonderful holiday too, Vicky! Thank you so much for being a loyal reader. I will see you in the New Year 🤗

One of my best friends is a Copt who moved to the States when he was 10.. I’ll have to ask him about this village and church!
