Hi Samantha - wow - loved this and it is so timely for me. As a chronically-traveling "slow traveler" I feel like I am committed to staying in one place longer, connecting to that place and people and also suppporting the local economy respectfully. Currently I am in Paris for 2 months, for the very first time and I'm battling with feeling like I need to "do all the things" while also just wanting to live life, even if it just means going for a walk in my local park most days. Good problems to have. Can't wait to dig into your guides. Merci!

2 months in Paris! That sounds incredible. I totally understand the internal struggle of needing to do all the things, especially in a city like Paris with infinity things to do. But Paris is such a wonderful place to hang out and just be. The parks, the quais, the cafés, the bookstores... :)

So far the people of the 12th Arrondissement are inspiring me with their dedication to time spent in the parks lying in the grass reading books and having picnics at all hours of the day. I love it. So while I have a long list of museums, restaurants, bookstores, and neighborhoods to get to I will lean into the delight of time spent enjoying a beautiful summer day in one spot. Thanks Samantha - I am loving catching up on your substack. Cheers!
