Thanks so much for the shoutout, Sam! I’m glad you enjoyed Lagos; your experience was different than my own since we always go in August when it’s packed! I’m envious of you being able to soak in the views in peace :)
Hope you feel better soon, and looking forward to reading more about your trip!
🤗 thank you Kiki! I would love to see Lagos in the high season one day...though I think my ideal would be to stay somewhere quieter to escape the crowds, rent a car, and road trip around the towns of the Algarve!
The Algarve is one of our favourite places to be over the Xmas and early New Year period. I recognise all the places you have pictured, and have walked most of the rugged coast line, mainly in the wind!
We went every year (for 8 years) to get some warmth in the winter (Blackpool is very chilly in the winter), plus some solitude. We haven't been there over the last 4 years due to us both retiring (we're only young 61 and 56 now but we could stop doing our day jobs and live the kind of life we wanted to live), acquiring 2 rescue dogs 4 years ago, and looking after my Mother from March 2020.
Your post brought back the pleasure we have had in that area, and we are planning to get back out there, with our dogs, next year. Easy(ish) for us because we can drive all the way there. Just the place to go for solitude.
Those photos are unreal. Glad you embraced the peace and quiet, and thanks for the shoutout!
Thanks Trilety 🤗🤗
I hope you will have a good rest, fast recovery, and a kinder weekend ahead. These lovely pictures and scenes are a balm, placid and restorative.
Thank you Edward! I’m feeling like myself again and it’s been a very restful weekend :)

Take care of yourself and feel better Sam! Beautiful photos of the blue-green water!
Thanks so much, Vicki! I’m feeling better already. Hope you’re having a lovely week ❤️
Great post - and such gorgeous pictures, Sam! I hope you feel much, much better soon!
Thank you, Rebecca! Luckily it seems to have been a 24-hour thing, I’m already on the mend 🤗
I'm happy you and Nick had such a deep conversation and it helped to raise your spirits!
Oh, man! COVID *and* the flu! I hope you feel better soon! Maybe you got all of your bad luck for 2023 out of the way in the first two weeks :)
I must have had some bad karma, but hopefully I’ve paid my debt to the universe now 😂
Feel better, Sam! Photos are gorgeous ✨
🤗 thanks Jolene! Hope you’re having a good week!
This looks so peaceful. But, I'm leaving the reading about air travel until next week when I've cleared both of this months airport experiences!
😂 may you fare better than I did, Rachel!!

Thank you for writing about it.
